SUMMARY:

Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), the City of Merritt (the “City”) invites Proposals from civil contracting firms or directional drilling contractors, to perform construction services as par of the City’s Nicola Reservoir Watermain Replacement Project (the ‘Project’), that focused on replacing the watermain from the Nicola Reservoir, down the hillside to Nicola Avenue (Highway 8). The Project is in the City of Merritt and will replace and upsize the water main from the Nicola Reservoir. The Work of this Contract focuses on the Horizontal Directionally Drilled component of the Project.  Final tie-ins to the existing watermain that are required as part of the Project will be completed by City of Merritt own forces.  Full details of the Work required is provided in Part A of this RFP. 

Contract Time: The following are key milestone dates required for the Work:

• The Work may commence anytime on or after: October 1, 2025
• Substantial Performance of the Work: must be achieved no later than November 15, 2025
• Total Performance of the Work must be achieved no later than 20 calendar days following Substantial Performance.

Form of Contract: The Contract placed as a result of this RFP will be the MMCD (Master Municipal Construction Documents) 2019 Edition Unit Price Contract, together with supplementary conditions as detailed in Part C of this RFP.
