SUMMARY:

Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), the City of Merritt (the “City”) invites Proposals from suitability qualified and experienced companies, that are current members of the RCABC (Roofing Contractor’s Associated of British Columbia) to perform specified works to replace the roof at the City of Merritt Civic Centre. 

1. Summary of the Work: Full details of the Work required is provided in Divisions 1 to 7, plus the Contract Drawings contained in Exhibit A of this RFP.   A summary of the Work is provided in Section 01 11 00 of the Specifications.  The Work includes both hot mix asphalt and roof shingle works to replace the roof at the Merritt Civic Centre.
2. Location: The Place of the Work is the Merritt Civic Centre, located at 1950 Mamette Avenue, Merritt, BC, as shown on the Drawings.
3. Budget:  The City is not disclosing a budget for this Work, but has completed internal cost estimates and has approved budget funds.  Respondents are to submit pricing based on the details provided in this RFP.
4. Contract Time & Construction Schedule for the Work: The Work must be completed to meet the following Milestone Date Requirements:
   • The Work shall commence no earlier than August 3, 2026
   • The Work shall be completed to ‘Ready for Takeover’ no later than October 16, 2026.
5. Form of Contract: The Form of Contract to be executed between the City and the Contractor for the Work will be the CCDC2 – 2020 Stipulated Price Contract, as modified by Supplementary Conditions detailed herein.
