Summary: Through this Request for Proposals, the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB) invites Proposals for the manufacture, supply, related services plus delivery of a prototype ‘Modular Mussel Eradication Station’ (MMES) that will be used to remove invasive mussels from watercraft at highway inspection stations within Alberta. The OBWB has completed design and engineering for the prototype MMES, and the drawings and specifications for such are contained in Part E of this RFP. The drawings and specifications contained in Part E have been developed based on the unique needs of the MMES, and Respondents are required to carefully read these requirements, and address each requirement fully in their proposal. It is anticipated that the Supplier selected as a result of this RFP will be required to perform some design services/Shop Drawings prior to the MMES being manufactured. Respondents shall also note that the OBWB has issued two other separate RFP processes related to the MMES as follows:
The barrel tank and ramps of the above-mentioned RFPs are considered to be long-lead time items, with an approximate 10 week lead time, and therefore the OBWB intends to contract for these items first in order to commence manufacture of those items at the earliest opportunity. The OBWB’s intent will be to novate (assign) the OBWB’s rights under those two contracts, over to the MMES Supplier contracted from this RFP #2026-112, further to the Optional Pricing contained herein.
